Your practitioner will begin with a thorough consultation to assess your skin concerns and ensure you're a suitable candidate for SkinPen. Your goals, medical history, and any contraindications will be discussed. The skin will then be thoroughly cleansed. the SkinPen device will be gently moved across the treatment area, creating thousands of microscopic channels in the skin. You may feel light pressure and a mild scratching or vibrating sensation, but it should not be painful. Immediately after treatment, your skin will appear red and may feel warm—similar to mild sunburn. This is a normal response and usually settles within 24–72 hours.

Tip: Please do not wear makeup to your appointment

Typically, results will show in days to weeks following treatment. This process can continue for several months as collagen continues to remodel and regenerate. For optimal outcomes, multiple sessions are often recommended, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

It's important to note that individual responses to skin needling can vary based on factors such as skin condition and the specific concern being addressed. Always follow the guidance of your treatment nurse, as they will provide personalised information based on your unique skin characteristics and treatment plan.

Minor redness and irritation of the skin can be experienced for a few days post treatment. Do not pick at the skin – this can increase the risk of infection, pigment changes and scaring. Increase water intake to include at least 8 glasses. Protect the treatment area from sun exposure.

In order to get the best from your skin needling treatment, please avoid the following post treatment:

The number of Skin Needling sessions required will depend on your primary skin concern; however, we generally recommend a minimum of four treatments for optimal results. During your consultation, your clinician will assess your skin in detail and tailor a treatment plan to suit your individual needs. Treatments are typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart, and to maintain long-term results, we suggest maintenance sessions roughly every three to six months.
